The Quality Engineer will have responsibility to oversee and manage all aspects of quality assurance and quality control for the site through implementation and maintenance of processes, practices and policies that ensure sustainable quality performance.
Main Accountabilities:
Take lead responsibility for quality issues. Be “hands on,” develop plans to resolve and communicate actions needed to prevent reccurence.
Be willing and able to perform data analysis to drive to thorough root cause and corrective action.
Lead the business’ quality system- maintain approvals, registrations and certifications.
Schedule and host 3rd party and customer auditors and mainatin relationships with registrars and industry governance authorit(ies).
Provide management and analysis of critical data/information regarding performance of the QMS as well as delivered quality performance to our customers.
Work directly with customers to provide requested QMS data, inspection plans, test results etc.
Drive uniformity and standardization of process/procedures/systems and working practices.
Author procedures, work instructions and standard work that accurately reflect processes and are compliant to applicable standards.
Author and review changes and enhancements to all facets of QMS.
Responsible to manage, evaluate, and approve corrective action plans and systems.
Chair cross functional quality sessions such as MRB, CAPA, and QMS management reviews.
Lead improvement initiatives to reduce COPQ, increase customer satisfaction and streamline processes.
Perform supplier quality audits as well as assessment of new suppliers.
Manage and direct quality and operations team members.
Some travel, including international possible.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline (engineering preferred)
Experience:
5 years Quality Assurance/Quality Control/Quality Engineering function
Experience as a lead auditor or multiple roles as a member of an auditing team.
Experience with ISO standards and processes needed to obtain/sustain certifications.
Experience working within aircraft and defense industry QMS
